About Mowgli & Barfi
Meet Barfi & Mowgli – A Beautifully Bonded Pair Looking for Their Forever Home
Barfi and Mowgli are a truly special, bonded pair of boys searching for a home where they can stay together. While very different in personality, they complement each other perfectly and share a deep, settled bond that brings out the very best in both of them.
Barfi is a 4-year-old Harrier with an intelligent, thoughtful nature and excellent manners. Having spent part of his early life as a stray, Barfi has developed exceptional resilience, awareness, and social skills. He is calm, highly obedient, and has outstanding impulse control. Barfi listens beautifully, responds reliably to cues such as sit, stand, and roll, and is a pleasure to walk on lead and take out into the world. He is social and appropriate with other dogs and reads situations extremely well.
Barfi is also active and adventurous. He loves the outdoors and is a true water baby — beach trips, splashing in the shallows, and exploring new environments are very much his happy place. Despite this, he has a great off-switch and settles easily at home. Underneath his athletic build is a deeply affectionate dog who loves closeness and connection with his people.
Because of his past, Barfi does have one manageable quirk: he can be protective of his food and high-value treats. This is easily managed with respectful boundaries, such as being fed separately and given a quiet space to eat. With this simple structure in place, Barfi is relaxed and secure.
Mowgli is a 3-year-and-8-month-old tricolour Beagle with the softest soul and the biggest, most expressive eyes. He is an incredibly gentle, affectionate boy who has never shown a hint of aggression. Mowgli is a true cuddle bug and thrives on closeness — he loves being near his humans and will happily curl up beside you whenever he gets the chance.
Mowgli is deeply bonded to Barfi and draws great comfort and confidence from him. He is very much the “shadow” in the relationship, often following Barfi’s lead and taking part in whatever his big brother is doing. He shows affection through gentle grooming, leaning in, and curling up against Barfi to nap. Their bond is calm, affectionate, and emotionally supportive.
Mowgli is social with other dogs and adores people. He would suit a home that values companionship and connection and enjoys having dogs as true family members.
Mowgli experiences occasional seizures (approximately 2–3 per year). These episodes are infrequent and mild, and his veterinarian has advised that daily medication is not currently required. Outside of these rare events, Mowgli lives a completely normal, happy, active life.
What they’re looking for
Barfi and Mowgli are best suited to a home where they can remain together. They would thrive with adopters who understand dogs, enjoy daily walks and outdoor time, and are happy to provide clear routines and gentle structure. A home that can respect Barfi’s food boundaries and fully embrace Mowgli’s affectionate nature would be ideal.
In return, these two boys offer loyalty, companionship, affection, and the kind of bond that is incredibly special to witness. They are settled, social, and ready to become deeply loved family members.
If you’re looking for a bonded pair who will bring both calm and joy into your life, Barfi and Mowgli may be the perfect match.
Medical notes
Mowgli has had 3 seizures but is currently unmedicated under his vets advice.
