Tanzi

Tanzi is an 18-month-old Maltese mix who has been quietly and bravely rewriting her story in foster care. When she first arrived, she wouldn't walk on lead at all. Now? She's happily trotting along on strolls, taking in the world at her own pace and surprising everyone with just how far she's come.

Tanzi is a genuinely happy little dog who really thrives on routine. Knowing what to expect helps her feel safe and confident, and when she's settled, her sweet and content nature truly shines through.

She has lived in foster care with children under five and has done well, provided her space is respected. Any children in the home will need to understand when Tanzi needs quiet time and not overwhelm her. With dog-savvy kids who can read her signals and give her gentle interactions, Tanzi could do very well in a family environment.

Other animals, however, are a bit much for Tanzi. She was very intimidated by the resident cat and wanted nothing to do with him or other dogs. Other pets can simply be overwhelming for her. For this reason, Tanzi would be best suited as the only pet, or a home where other animals fully respect her space and don't overwhelm her.

Tanzi is super toilet trained, though she doesn't quite understand yet that grass is more appropriate than concrete - something her new family will need to continue working on with patience and consistency.

She is comfortable being left alone, but if she could spend all her time with you, she absolutely would. Tanzi loves lying beside you on the couch and is an angel in the car and at vet visits. She's also slowly gaining the confidence to play with toys, which has been lovely to watch.

Tanzi is sensitive to loud noises or yelling, which can frighten her and occasionally lead to accidents. A calm, predictable home suits her best. She can also be a bit of a fussy eater, but we've discovered she has a clear favourite -Royal Canin is her top pick.

Tanzi is searching for a kind, patient home that will honour her boundaries, maintain a gentle routine, and continue building her confidence. In return, she'll offer quiet devotion, affectionate companionship, and a very happy little presence curled up right beside you on the couch.
