About Wolfie
Introducing Wolfie!
Wolfie is a Bull Mastiff x Wolfhound born 30th June 2025.
Wolfie was brought in as an unmicrochipped stray. We believe we know who his owner is & they no longer wanted him as they were having another baby and didn't have time for him anymore.
Since being at the facility Wolfie has been an incredibly sweet boy who we have all fallen in love with. He's incredibly friendly, playful & affectionate. Considering his already large size, with more growing to go, he actually a very gentle boy and doesn't jump up for attention. While doing his testing we got him very hyped up during play time to see if he would jump up then. While he did jump up, it wasn't on us, he made sure to turn to the side & he stood on his hind legs then dropped back down again.. not touching us at all. Wolfie already knows how to "sit" and is very close to "spin". We believe he has also lived with small children.
Wolfie tested quite well with other dogs. He's incredibly playful & bouncy with them. His only issue is that he doesn't quite know his size & his way of initiating play is to bop the other dog on the head. Thankfully the dog we were testing him with also saw this as a playful invite, but it may turn off less tolerant dogs. We believe Wolfie could be suitable to live with other dogs or be the spoilt only "child" at home. If you have a friendly dog at home, we would need to do a meet & greet with them to ensure they get along before going home.
Wolfie seemed a little scared of our resident cat. We feel that Wolfie could be suitable to live with cats if given a slow & controlled introduction to them.
Wolfie did seem quite excited to meet our resident rooster, but then he saw a shadow and became very excited about that too and moved on. If he is to be housed with smaller animals, we recommend they be caged only & not free roaming as he may chase them.
He still has so much to learn about the world and would love to be in a home where he is included as a member of the family. Wolfie will thrive in an environment that guides him with positive direction and lots of love and attention.
Wolfie has shown no sign of food aggression towards humans.
Wolfie has shown no sign of separation anxiety since being at the facility.
Wolfie's adoption fee is $650 and includes his desexing & lifetime registration.
Wolfie is also regularly treated for flea and worms and is up to date with his vaccinations.

Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
