About Ruby
Meet Ruby, a delicate Chihuahua with a gentle soul. This quiet little lady may be small, weighing just 2.4 kg, but her heart is filled with love waiting to blossom. At 6 years old, Ruby's journey in life has been a cautious one, but with time, trust, and a nurturing environment, she transforms into a loving and affectionate companion. The teeth in the photo have been removed.
Ruby walks well on a lead, and while initially timid, she comes around beautifully with the right amount of patience and understanding. She's great with other small dogs and finds comfort in their company. However, larger dogs can be intimidating for her, so a household with smaller companions would suit her best. Ruby's initial timidity might lead to outbursts when she is unexpectedly picked up, so it's essential to approach her with gentle reassurance and care.
What Ruby truly needs is a serene and supportive home where her cautious nature is respected and where she can gradually build confidence at her own pace. Once she knows that you won't harm her, she wholeheartedly opens up to receiving love and gentle pats, enjoying the connection with her special person. Her anxious nature will surely fade in a family that is prepared to offer consistent love and assurance, eventually letting Ruby's true loving personality shine through.
If you are looking for a devoted companion who will grow alongside you, embracing the journey of trust and companionship, Ruby may be the perfect addition to your home. She's ready to find her new family and flourish where love and patience reign.

Adoption details
Our adoption process is easy. You will receive a application for the animals you are interested in. Please full that in and send it back to us.
Even though you may be first to message, this does not always guarantee you will be chosen to adopt. By no means do we run on a "first in, first served basis". We aim to ensure that our animals are adopted into the most suitable home for them and the new family.
With all our animals, we go on what our vet has told us and what we believe the breed and age to be. We never guarantee the breed or age but take the best educated guess.
Please note: Our shelter is located in the Snowy Mountains. We are a 5 hour drive from Sydney and Melbourne and 2 to 3 hours from Canberra.
