About Chance
Chance is a lovely, affectionate dog who enjoys spending time with his people and building close bonds with those he knows. He likes to play, has a naturally calm, settled vibe in the home, and doesnât need constant attention to be content as he is capable of entertaining himself and relaxing independently.
He's a highly intelligent boy who loves to learn. He already knows sit, stay, drop and shake hands and he's ready for more training! His manners on lead still need a little work as he does tend to pull while on walks but we will be purchasing a no-pull harness to help curb this habit.
Chance thoroughly enjoys human company but struggles with overstimulation, unfamiliar people, and other dogs. When excited or anxious he may bark, and if placed in situations that exceed his comfort threshold he can become reactive.
Chance thrives when his environment is predictable and calm. Busy streets, crowded areas, and frequent social encounters are not suitable for him. Play time and walks in secluded areas suit him far better, allowing him to enjoy exercise without too much pressure.
Chance is currently on medication to help make his experience of the world a little smoother. This has been a positive support for him, and any adopter will need to continue working closely with a veterinarian to monitor and adjust his medication alongside ongoing training.
Social visits are challenging for Chance. New people in his space can be stressful, so his future home must be able to manage visitors appropriately. This may include slow, controlled introductions or providing Chance with a separate area during visits.
Sadly, Chance has been let down and rejected several times. He is a beautiful dog who just needs a little patience, understanding, and a human willing to meet him where he is rather than pushing him into situations that make him feel unsafe. We know that home is out there and we are determined to ensure his next home will be his forever home. He deserves to be loved and cherished đĽ°
đĄ Ideal home:
A patient, calm, and understanding adult home
Someone experienced with anxious or reactive dogs, or willing to learn
A predictable routine and low-traffic environment
Walks in secluded areas rather than busy public spaces
Commitment to ongoing training and veterinary-supported medication
Ability to manage visitors thoughtfully and respectfully
Someone who will advocate for him instead of asking him to cope with too much, too soon.
In the right home, Chance will reward his person with deep loyalty, affection, and light-hearted companionship. Please contact us to enquire about meeting Chance! He truly is a great dog just waiting for the right person to give him... well, a â¨ď¸chanceâ¨ď¸ of course!
