Introducing Twinkie, a mature lady who likes nothing more than chilling with her people.
She would sometimes come to work with her carer and never put a paw wrong. Twinkie loves to come inside and lie on her bed while her carer watches TV.
Once settled, Twinkie becomes an effective watch dog. However, she is happy to meet new people once told it's OK.
Twinkie is fine with other dogs but can be assertive with the 2 large males she lives with. Despite this Twinkie "adopted" a very nervous female pup while at the pound.
Twinkie loves a car ride and will sit quietly watching the scenery go by. She would much prefer a car ride or gentle stroll to a run or crazy play at a dog park.
When Twinkie arrived she was found to be heartworm positive and started treatment soon after. She has since completed her treatment but will require a 6mth post treatment test at the start of July (covered by NQAR). Due to this, Twinkie is available for local adoption only.
Much to her disgust, Twinkie has been on a weightloss journey while in care and would benefit from maintaining a lower weight. At her original weight Twinkie was showing some minor signs of joint pain however the symptoms have rectified since losing weight.
While in care Twinkie has shown no signs of escaping or fear of storms etc. When recently arrived in care Twinkie did show some separation anxiety however this has abated once settled in.
Twinkie would do well in a home where she is allowed inside to be part of the family. She may be OK as an only dog but this would need to be in a home with her people around a majority of the time.
Twinkie is $350 to adopt and comes desexed, microchipped, C5 vaccinated, and given flea/tick/worm prevention.
