Zara is a sweet and gentle Border Collie whose good looks are perfectly matched by her delightful temperament.
Personality & Breed Traits
True to her breed, Zara is intelligent, attentive and eager to connect with her people. Border Collies are renowned for their loyalty, sensitivity and ability to form deep bonds — and Zara is no exception. She is thoughtful rather than boisterous, quick to learn, and happiest when she’s included in daily life.
Social Skills
Zara is wonderfully social and well-mannered, getting along beautifully with children, cats and other dogs. She would be an excellent choice for a family home or a household with existing pets.
Play & Fun
She has a playful side too — squeaky balls and bubbles are firm favourites, and she delights in games and interactive play.
Ideal Home
Zara’s ideal home will have secure fencing to keep her safe and enough space to allow exploration and play. She is looking for a family who will welcome her as an integral member of the household, with plenty of companionship and inclusion in everyday activities.
Another friendly dog to play with would be a wonderful bonus, and Zara would happily fit into a home with children. As a young Border Collie, she will benefit from regular activity, gentle training, and mental enrichment, all of which will help her reach her full potential.

Adoption details
Dogs:
(1) The first step is to complete the online adoption application form at https://southerndownsark.com.au/apply-to-adopt/ Please answer all questions and include photos of your yard and fencing.
(2) All applications will be considered by our Adoption Team, following which a "meet and greet" will be offered to the top-ranking applicant.
(3) If the “meet and greet" is successful, the applicant may adopt the dog and take him or her home the same day.
(4) For successful interstate applicants, different arrangements may apply and will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
Cats:
If you are interested in one of our cats or kittens, please click on the green "Enquire about ...", button, tell us a bit about yourself and the home you can offer the cat, and one of our volunteers will be in touch.
