About Poppy
✨ Poppy
Found extremely unwell by a kind member of the public, Poppy was taken to a vet for urgent care before coming into our program. She battled cat flu and calicivirus and has shown incredible resilience. Poppy is shy when you first meet her, but once she feels safe she loves to play and will reward you with gentle smooches. She’s comfortable around both cats and dogs and would thrive in a patient, loving home.
Medical notes
Cat flu is a common upper respiratory infection in cats, especially kittens. It’s usually caused by viruses like calicivirus, which spreads easily between cats.
You might see sneezing, runny eyes or nose, lethargy, or mouth ulcers. While there’s no direct cure for the virus itself, most kittens recover very well with veterinary care and support 💕
Many go on to live completely normal, healthy lives, and vaccination helps reduce future flare-ups.
If you have questions about cat flu or calicivirus, our team is always happy to chat 🐱💗
