💛 About Me:
Hi, I'm Matai!
When I first arrived in care, I was a very scared and unsocialised little kitten. The world was a big, frightening place, and I wasn't too sure about people. But with lots of patience, love, and reassurance, I've come such a long way and have grown into a completely different cat.
These days, I'm a sweet and affectionate boy who loves seeking out attention from my people. I'll happily come over for pats, enjoy spending time with you, and love being told what a handsome boy I am. It's hard to believe I'm the same kitten who was once too scared to trust anyone!
While I can still be a little cautious when faced with something new, once I feel comfortable my loving personality really shines through. I enjoy being around people, getting affection, and living the good life that every cat deserves.
My journey hasn't always been easy, but it has helped shape me into the wonderful boy I am today. Now all that's missing is a forever family to love me for the rest of my life.
📖 My Story:
Me and my siblings were born inside someone’s roof, giving us a very unsettling start to life. Thankfully, the kind person living there stayed in contact with the rescue and kept them safe until the rescue were able to bring us into care.
🏡 Ideal Forever home:
I'm looking for a calm, patient home with someone who understand that I may take a little while to settle in.
My future family must be willing to take things slowly, allowing me the time and space to build trust at my own pace.
I have had catflu , So I will need to be the only cat unless any other resident cats have also had cat flu.
With patience, consistency, and gentle handling, I will have the best chance to truly blossom. 🤍
Medical notes
A few weeks ago, Matai got quite unwell with Catflu.
Thankfully , With the help of his foster carer and the vets , He made a full recovery and is no longer showing any symptoms.
Cats who have had Catflu can remain lifelong carriers of the virus , So due to this , Matai will need to be the only cat in the home unless they have also had catflu
