Meredith

Meredith is a gentle soul who will need a calm, thoughtful transition into a new home. She must be started in a small launch room and given time to settle before being allowed to explore the rest of the house, as large open spaces can feel overwhelming at first. Providing plenty of scratch posts, cat trees, hides such as cardboard boxes or cat igloos, and access to shelves or dressers will help her feel safe and secure, with options both high and low.
Meredith would thrive with a patient and understanding adopter who recognizes she may be timid in a new environment and needs time to show her true self. A home with teens or older children who understand basic cat body language and know when to give her space would be ideal.
She came into the shelter with another cat and may do well with a calm, social feline companion. Meredith has made wonderful progress-she's still a little nervous, but very affectionate and enjoys gentle pats and quiet conversations. She also has a soft spot for wet food, which helps win her heart.
