Julien can be a little unsure in brand-new situations, especially while he's taking everything in, but he warms up quickly and blossoms once he feels safe. Beneath that shy exterior lies a 10/10 personality of high-energy, fun-loving dog who's always ready to move, play, and get involved. He loves being active just as much as he loves being close, and he's surprisingly affectionate with the people he knows well.

As you'd expect from a working breed, this boy runs on both legs and brainpower. This is a dog who loves hard and lives fast! Julien has a very busy brain and a very active body, and he needs an outlet for both. Daily exercise is a must, but just as important is mental stimulation - training, puzzle toys, learning new skills, and structured activities will help him feel settled, confident, and happy. A tired brain makes a calm Julien!

He has previously lived with a cat and another dog, and Julien loves being friends with pretty much anybody (and any animal) he meets- pending a successful meet and greet with any resident dogs of course! He would be best matched with a home with secondary school-aged children or older, who can read his cues and understand that big feelings sometimes come with big brains too.

On lead, Julien is strong and keen to get moving, and he'll benefit from continued training to build his loose-lead skills. The time you invest in his training is repaid with a settled, confident dog who is deeply affectionate, loyal, and happiest by your side.
