About Flosie
Meet sweet Flosie gal - a 1 year old kelpie X cattle dog, aka a queen of smooch who will steal your heart (and the occasional shoe). This lil lady is incredibly smart, loyal and affectionate (think Velcro), with a sprinkle of heeler spice to keep things fun.
Flosie is housetrained, sleeps soundly in a crate overnight, great in the car, walks well on the lead and has good recall once she knows you’re her person. For a young pup, she has an excellent off switch, alternating between bitey face and couch snuggles with ease, and settling well when tethered.
Some of Flosie’s favourite activities include requesting pats, zoomies with her foster bro, long sniffy nature walks, and pinching laundry out of the hamper (you’ve been warned!). She’s still learning what toys are, but loves a good game of tug.
She’s excellent with other dogs and would do well with sibling/s who enjoy boisterous play. She likes to be the centre of attention, so would suit an owner who can provide gentle but firm boundaries. In saying that, she’s got basic obedience on board and understands ‘yes’ and ‘no’, ‘sit’, ‘wait’. She’s also very food motivated and responds well to training in short bursts - we’ve got no doubt she will flourish in something like scent work or agility if her new family was interested in dog sports.
While she’s only had a few interactions with kids in care, she was very friendly so we think she’d be great with older dog-savvy children. Untested with cats, but we’d say the chase would be a little too tempting for her!
Flosie is an absolute lovebug who just wants to be near you. She’ll thrive in a home that includes her in daily activities, provides ongoing training and boundaries, lots of adventures, and revels in her sweet, cheeky nature.
She’s very devoted to her people and forms strong bonds, so she’d be best suited to someone who’s home most of the time, or who is happy to be patient and consistent while helping her build confidence when left on her own. In return, you’ll have a loyal little best mate with the silkiest fur known to man.
