Arlo!

Arlo is a 4-year-old Staffy x Bulldog with a sweet, soulful face and an “old soul” personality that instantly melts hearts. This gentle boy found himself in the pound through no fault of his own after his family had to move overseas, leaving Arlo confused and wondering why his world suddenly changed.

Arlo has beautiful indoor manners and truly shines inside — his favourite place is hanging out in the office with staff, quietly keeping them company. He’s polite, calm, and happy with a daily walk before settling in for cuddle time or play with his beloved toys (his absolute favourite thing!).

At the pound, Arlo has proven to be very social with other dogs and would happily live with a friendly female dog. He has previously lived with cats and been reported as good with them, though formal cat testing hasn’t been possible yet due to a lack of dog-savvy cats in care. Arlo is fantastic with children, gentle, and trustworthy — he doesn’t bite, nip, show food aggression, or bark excessively.

Despite his solid 30kg frame, Arlo walks well on lead. He can be a little stubborn at times (the bulldog in him!), but he’s loyal, affectionate, and eager to please. He knows basic commands, listens well, and will proudly offer a paw when asked — “Arlo, shake!” 💕

Arlo isn’t an escape artist, doesn’t dig or chew anymore, and shows no signs of anxiety. He did break a leg as a puppy but has no ongoing medical concerns. Birds may be a little too exciting for him, but otherwise, Arlo is a well-rounded, easygoing companion who just wants to belong again.

This beautiful boy is desperate to leave the pound and find a couch, a toy basket, and a family to call his own. He didn’t choose to be surrendered, but he’s hoping someone will choose him now.
