About Cookie
💙 Cookie — A Gentle Soul Learning What Love Feels Like 💙
You will fall in love with Cookie from the very first moment you meet him — but what truly captures your heart is his softness.
Cookie is a beautiful 2 year and 11 month old male British Bulldog, weighing approximately 23.5kg, who has come into care after a very sheltered life with a breeder.
The rescue has completed all his necessary vet work.
Now, he’s discovering what it means to be a loved family dog… and he’s doing his very best.
Cookie is timid, gentle, and incredibly affectionate.
He is still learning confidence and needs a family who will adore him exactly as he is, quirks and all, while gently showing him that the world isn’t such a scary place.
With love, patience, and kindness, Cookie blossoms more each day.
This sweet boy is 95% toilet trained, though like many dogs settling into a new environment, he may have a small setback while adjusting.
He is crate trained and sleeps comfortably in his crate at night, while during the day you’ll find him snoozing happily on his dog bed or relaxing on the lounge — preferably in the loungeroom where he can keep an eye on his people.
Cookie is a quiet, low-energy boy who doesn’t bark and doesn’t ask for much. Walks and leaving the house aren’t his favourite right now - the world is still a scary place for him — he will “pancake” on the ground — but with time, encouragement, and trust, this is something his new family could gently work on… or simply accept that Cookie is happiest living in his own little bubble at home, surrounded by love.
He adores children, particularly ages 6 and up, and gets along well with other dogs.
Cookie is very submissive, so he would do best with a calm, non-dominant canine companion. He is currently fostered with a happy-go-lucky Frenchie and enjoys the companionship. He could also thrive as an only dog, soaking up all the attention for himself.
💫 Cookie’s favourite things?
• Cuddles (lots of them)
• Food (even more than cuddles)
• Praise and gentle affection
He will proudly be your kitchen wingman, ensuring no food ever hits the floor for longer than three seconds — no rule required. Offer him a treat and he’ll happily open his mouth like a little crocodile, just in case.
💙 His quirks are what make him special
• He tilts his head when you say his name
• He sometimes walks backwards
• He melts into cuddles like butter
Cookie is still gaining confidence around everyday household items like brooms and vacuums. When he feels unsure, he simply retreats to his bed — a gentle reminder of how innocent and sensitive his heart truly is.
Cookie isn’t looking for perfection. He’s looking for patience, safety, and unconditional love. In return, he will give you the purest devotion and the kind of quiet companionship that fills a home with warmth.
If you’re searching for a gentle soul to love, protect, and help grow — Cookie is waiting for you 💙🐶

Complete the following adoption enquiry link

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $250) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 10 day trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
