About Steven
Remember the two brothers at the pound who had lived in a cage most of their lives? 💔
Well Alfie has found his forever family… and now it’s Steven’s turn ✨
*From Steven's carer, Mel:
"Meet Steven; our current underdog @ AINB.
Steven spent a year in the pound with no name and no owner. Shy, shut down, and scared. Since August, Steven has been in foster care, learning all about people, kindness, love and training.
Would you like a new best friend? Or a best friend for your current dog? Or both?
Steven is shy with humans until you earn his trust, but he thrives playing with other dogs 🐕❣️.
Steven is a very physical dog. He loves running, wrestling, playing, camping and the beach.
Not gonna lie, Steven does take time to get to know you but once he does, his goof ball personality comes out❣️."
🐕 Steven is a sensitive soul who truly blossoms around other dogs. His confidence improves tenfold when he has doggy company – he thrives on play, companionship, and shared adventures.
Steven would love:
- A home with another dog (or regular dog friends)
- Active humans who enjoy the outdoors – running, camping, beach days
- Someone patient who understands that trust takes time.
🚗 Fun Steven facts:
-Loves riding in the car
-Will happily share your breakfast toast
-Turns into a total goofball once he feels safe
🏡 Important notes:
-Best suited to a home with older children (12+yrs)
-No cats, please
-Needs a calm, understanding home willing to let him settle at his own pace.
Steven may take a little time, but the love and loyalty he gives in
return are absolutely worth it.
Let’s help this beautiful boy finally find the forever home he deserves 🐶❤️

Adoption details
We list animals for adoption on Pet Rescue as well as on our own Animals-in-Need-Brisbane website. We talk with people who contact about an animal to see what their needs and situation are. Our emphasis is on getting the right animal for the people and the right people for the animal. If everyone's needs are met things usually work out well.
If the situation sounds good we arrange a meeting. If all goes well we let people try the animal out for a couple of weeks to ensure that everyone is happy.
We keep records of all adopters, follow up to ensure all is well and undertake to take back any animal if circumstances change.
