About Scout
Meet Scout - Your Next Whippet Companion!
Scout is a sleek, elegant Whippet who would love to find a home where they can stretch out and relax in style.
This graceful breed is known for being affectionate, loyal, and wonderfully low-maintenance when it comes to grooming.
Whippets are gentle souls who adore lounging on the couch just as much as they enjoy a good sprint in the yard.
Scout is seeking a new home, preferably with sighthound experience, but not essential. Scout is not loking to live with families with small children but would happily join a family with teenage children and would be an ideal match for a true Whippet enthusiast looking for their next slender, speedy friend looking for the unique experience of sharing their bed with a bag of coat hangers... If you've ever shared your bed with a Whippet, you'll understand the phrase.
Scout is dog social, although a discerning gentleman who will only consider interacting with other well mannered calm and sociable dogs. Think fine dining rather than a pub meal, Scout does play well with others and would be suited to a home with another dog that fits the above description.
Scout is currently enjoying life in a foster home and will return to the shelter for meet-and-greets. Appointments are essential and can be arranged by contacting BARC.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
