About Jasmine

Darling Jasmine is almost 9 years old, and her world has recently been turned upside down after the passing of her human dad. Her mum’s health has also declined, leaving her unable to care for Jasmine, and she has made the heartbreaking choice to find her a new home where she’ll be properly cared for in her golden years.
Jasmine is the sweetest soul; loving, gentle, and affectionate once she feels secure. Jas hasn’t had much exposure to the outside world for quite some time and has lived a very quiet, isolated life. Because of this, she can be timid around new people and will retreat to her safe spot until she feels comfortable. She’s never aggressive, just scared and unsure, and her instinct is simply to hide.
Food is a great motivator for Jas, treats help her warm up to new people, she is looking for a calm home where she’ll be given plenty of space and patience to come out of her shell. While Jas has been fine with visiting children previously, she’ll need a quiet safe space away from kids as she adjusts; older, respectful children would be more suitable.
Entering her senior years, Jas is a relaxed girl who loves nothing more than resting beside her human, snoozing by the TV, or watching the world go by from a window. She needs a home where she’s allowed indoors and has company more often than not, she would be a wonderful companion for someone retired.
Jas hasn’t been exercised recently and has been fed too many treats; Jasmine’s owner also has found her grooming upkeep a little difficult. Jas isn’t currently looking her best, she is a little overweight, her coat overgrown and matted. Jas loves being brushed once she feels safe, she will need to work up to this in her new home. Jas will need to shed a few kgs, regular exercise will help with this.
Jasmine hasn’t been exposed to the outside world in quite some time, when we took her for a walk, she was quite stressed and unsure of all the people, noises and stimuli around her. Jas would be best suited to a quiet neighbourhood and will need to build up her confidence going for walks, slow exposure at quiet times of the day will help Jas to acclimatise.
Jas hasn’t had any recent exposure to dogs, she became a little anxious when she could hear dogs out on our walk, but unfortunately, we couldn’t thoroughly test her up close. Jas is already going to go through such a huge change and will have to learn to trust new humans, we don’t know if throwing in a new dog to the mix, and Jas having to navigate living with a dog for the first time is in her best interest/ if she would even be accepting of another dog.
A home without another dog would be preferred, however we are open to applications from homes with a large male dog if complete separation and gradual introductions can take place whilst Jas settles in.
Jasmine’s owner tells us that she has never liked cats and will chase the birds away.
This sweetheart has already lost so much, and we know this next move will be harder than ever for her, but we have promised her owner that we will take care of Jas and give her the wonderful life she deserves. Its not easy finding a senior girl a new home and introducing her to a whole new world, but we know the perfect person is out there somewhere for Jasmine.

Adoption details
We offer a 'Foster to Adopt' program. This means that the dog will go to live with their adoptive family for 4 weeks to ensure it is the perfect match for both the dog and new family. After the 4 weeks is complete, if all has gone well, the adoption is formalised and your new doggy companion is officially yours!
If you are interested in adopting from us, we ask that you fill out the Adoption Application form on our website (via the link provided below) with as much detail as possible, including the name of the dog you are interested in.
We do not rehome female dogs to a home where there is an existing female dog. Whilst there are always exceptions, it is generally unwise to have two females together; two males can sort it out, a male and a female can sort it out, but when two females fight, the results can be disastrous. For this reason, following the advice from numerous Veterinary behaviourists, as well as our own experience from the last eight years, we do not rehome females into homes with other female dogs.
All of our dogs are de-sexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated
Puppies (2 months to 4 months) - $1000
Puppies (4 to 6 months) - $800
Adolescents (6 months to 1 year) - $700
Mature (1 year to 6 years) - $600
Senior (7 years plus) - $350
