Medusa

My name is Medusa and I am a beautiful long haired German Shepherd who came into care with my sister. I have a quiet, loyal and loving personality and I form strong bonds with my people. I am very intelligent and devoted to my human, and I enjoy being close to those I trust.

I am fully housetrained and well behaved in the home, and I quickly pick up household rules such as where I am and am not permitted to go. I love car rides and travel well.

Before coming into care, I did not venture out very much, so I am still learning about the world and can be a little unsure of new things at times. Because of this, I would be best suited to a home with an experienced dog owner and without young children, where I can continue to build confidence at my own pace.

I have been on outings to places like Bunnings and the dog park to help me get used to new environments. While I am friendly with other dogs, I am not phased by them and prefer to explore on my own or stay close to my humans rather than engage in high energy play.

I have a long coat and I do shed a lot, so regular grooming will be part of my care routine.

When I came into care, I had a sore leg which was treated with anti inflammatory medication and has since resolved. I do not require any ongoing treatment or management at this time. However, orthopaedic and joint issues are not uncommon in German Shepherds, so adopters should remain mindful of this as I age. Considerations such as appropriate joint supplementation, adequate bedding, and avoiding excessive or high impact exercise are recommended.-

All animals are health checked, vaccinated, worm/flea treated, microchipped, desexed and registered with Gladstone Council.
They are socialised in the homes of loving foster carers, not in cages or kennels. (See our website to join the team)
