About Foo 🐶 1yo, Husky x Cattle Dog (On Trial 7/2/26)
Foo is a handsome, 1-year-old, Husky x Australian Cattle Dog. He has a bright mind, playful spirit, and a whole lot of love to give. Foo is everything people adore about dogs: intelligent, social, energetic, a little cheeky, and very people-oriented. He adores people and other dogs. He weighs 26kg and is medium to large size.
Foo thrives on interaction and activity. He loves romping around with his foster canine housemates. He’s also happy entertaining himself by exploring the yard, inventing his own games, or playing with toys. Being a young dog, he needs both physical exercise and mental stimulation to be happy. He would be an amazing companion for someone who enjoys walking, running, hiking, or beach adventures. But don’t worry, he knows how to relax too. 💤
🤗Foo is also a total snuggle bug. During the day he will find a comfy place and settle down and snooze. In the evenings he enjoys chilling and cuddling with his people before settling into his own bed for the night. He bonds strongly with his humans and is happiest when included in daily life, not left alone for long hours without stimulation or companionship.
Foo is great with dog-savvy children (with supervision, as he can get excited and might jump for joy). He enjoys meeting lots of people and other dogs. He'd love to go to dog parks.
💔 His Story
Foo was very sadly surrendered after his owner passed away. Foo has so much love to give and is ready for a fresh start with a family who understands and appreciates his loving and intelligent nature. His name relates to Chinese guardian lions symbolising protection, strength and prosperity. He won't mind if you want to change it though.
🏆Training
Foo is a clever boy who already has very good basic training. He knows sit, stay, wait, shake, lie down, and has a good recall in low-distraction environments. He is learning to walk nicely on lead and enjoys plenty of sniffing.
🏠 At Home
• Fully house-trained
• Uses a doggie door
• Well-mannered indoors
• Very healthy
• Not a nuisance barker
• He hasn't been tested with cats or pocket pets.
• He loves water and enjoys splashing his paws or cooling off after walks — a great bonus for summer adventures.
🏡 His Ideal Home
An individual, couple, or family who:
• Has secure fencing.
• Will take him on a daily walk or run.
• Will provide mental stimulation – Puzzle toys, games and training.
• Will provide companionship – If his humans work full time, Foo will need another dog at home. He needs to be allowed indoors when people are home.
• Has no resident children under around 10 years old (in case he jumps on them).
If you’re looking for a smart, affectionate, fun-loving young dog who will keep you laughing, moving, and feeling loved — Foo is your perfect match.
🐶 Foo is in foster care in Dudley, NSW (Lake Macquarie, near Charlestown). He is available for adoption to NSW and ACT. His adoption fee is $600 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, and microchipped.
