Mr Lover - Charlie has a temperament to die for. He is the most gentle sweet boy and despite his size, he is no guard dog! He is just a giant love bug. He’s coming into his “teenage phase” so chewing is part of his development and he loves to chew up whatever he takes a fancy to. Mostly it’s plants at the moment :) But he may expand his chewing menu over the next few months. If you are not prepared for giant puppy behaviour - scroll onto another dog! We will be very selective when choosing a new home for Charlie as we cannot risk a puppy of this size going to the wrong family.

Charlie is friendly with everyone, he’s a big sook who will crawl into your lap whenever you sit down and any lap will do. He is very sweet with all the dogs he’s met - large and small. He loves cats and thinks they are his friends to play with which isn’t ideal for every cat, so shy or scaredy cats probably wouldn’t appreciate his friendship style. Charlie has been living in foster care on a property with horses and sheep so he is used to seeing them over the fence and he finds them quite boring.
He’s a great traveller in the car and loves to go with you wherever the road leads. He’s had plenty of car experiences now and is always a pleasure, mostly curling up on the back seat. Getting him out of the car is sometimes a challenge because he loves it so much.

Charlie’s perfect home will have plenty of space for him to enjoy. Charlie is an inside dog and would like to have constant access to the house as he loves a comfy lounge to curl up on if a human lap isn’t immediately available. He will need experienced dog people due to his growing size and age as he will need continued training. We expect Charlie to mature over 50kgs so please do not apply if you do not have the capability to handle and care for a dog this size. We would like Charlie to have a home which includes a mature female role model dog who is friendly and social. Charlie loves children so young children in the home will be ok as long as they have experience with large dogs and attentive adults to supervise. Charlie may be ok for part time workers but at this stage he has rarely been left without people nearby and has always had other dogs for company.

Currently Charlie is being fed a blended raw and cooked food diet plus some puppy biscuits. He loves his food and is rapidly growing so needs close monitoring and a strict feeding regime.

Our adoption process includes a two week trial period to ensure you and your adopted pet are the right fit. Successful applicants will be contacted for an interview and a property inspection (as it is vital we rehome our animals to a safe, secure and suitable home).

The adoption fee of $700 assists to cover the costs of desexing, microchip, microchip ownership transfer, flea and worm treatment, vaccinations, and vet check.
