About Nemo
Nemo is a sweet, sensitive soul who has found himself overwhelmed by the busy shelter environment. After being surrendered to The Lost Dogs' Home, it's become clear that shelter life just isn't where Nemo shines. Loud noises, unfamiliar smells, and constant activity make it hard for this gentle boy to show the loving companion we know he truly is.
In a home, Nemo blossoms. Those who have seen him in a quieter setting describe him as affectionate, devoted, and eager to be near his people. He enjoys gentle pats, calm company, and being part of your everyday life, he just needs the chance to feel safe again.
Nemo is looking for a special person or family willing to take a leap of faith on a shy cat. The reward? A deep, trusting bond with a cat who will love you wholeheartedly once he knows he's home.
Like many shy cats, Nemo will do best with a slow, supportive introduction to his new home. Start him off in a small, quiet space where he can feel secure.
Let him explore at his own pace - hiding at first is completely normal and soft voices, gentle play, and sitting nearby so he can get used to you.
Treats are a great ice-breaker! Tasty rewards can help Nemo learn that good things happen when you're around.
Keep a predictable routine for feeding and play to build confidence.
Most importantly, give him time and patience - trust can't be rushed.
Nemo would suit a calm household where he can be the centre of someone's world. He's not looking for instant cuddles - he's looking for someone who believes in him. If you're ready to open your heart to a cat who just needs a chance, Nemo could be the loyal, loving companion you've been waiting for.
Nemo is part of our Rescue or Rehome program, where we are committed to finding homes for cats and kittens who simply cannot cope in the shelter environment. If you can open your heart and home to Nemo - or if you're a rescue group able to help - please reach out to us at adoptions@dogshome.com
