About Inka
Aurora was born in a backyard and, for the first eight months of her life, that's all she has ever known. No warm beds. No couches. No quiet nights curled up safely inside. Just the outside world, learning to survive before she ever had the chance to simply be a kitten.
Aurora is still just a baby at 8 months old, but she hides herself away, unsure of the noise and unfamiliar faces around her. She isn't bold. She doesn't push to the front. She waits. Watches. Hopes.
Her carer describes her as sweet, and they're right. When Aurora gets to know you, when she realises your hands bring kindness and not harm. She becomes affectionate in her own gentle way.
Aurora is a black kitten, and sadly, that makes her even easier to overlook. Black cats, and shy cats like her, are often passed by in shelters. They don't stand out in cages. They don't shout for attention. They fade into the background, waiting while others are chosen. Waiting while days go by. Waiting and wondering if anyone will ever see them.
She deserves a home where she can finally live the life she's never had - safe indoors, warm, spoiled, and loved. A life of luxury with soft beds, sunny windows, full bowls, and someone who will give her the time she needs to blossom. With patience and kindness, Aurora has so much love to give. She just needs someone willing to look past the hiding and see the beautiful soul underneath.
She didn't choose to be born in a backyard.
She didn't choose to be scared.
But you can choose her.
By opening your heart to Aurora, you're giving a forgotten little kitten the chance to finally know what it means to belong. To stop surviving. And start living.
Aarora is part of our Rescue or Rehome program, where we are committed to finding homes for cats and kittens who simply cannot cope in the shelter environment. If you can open your heart and home to Aarora - or if you're a rescue group able to help - please reach out to us at adoptions@dogshome.com
