Gavin

Gavin didn't come to The Lost Dogs' Home because he was unwanted. He came because life changed, and he lost the only world he knew. Now, at 14 he sits in a place that is loud, busy, and frightening for a cat who has always just wanted peace.

The shelter is not kind to sensitive hearts like Gavin's. Every day is too much noise, too many smells, too many strangers. You can see it in his eyes - he's not angry, not difficult, just overwhelmed. He's not coping here, and it's dimming the gentle spark that makes him who he is.

Gavin is an independent gentleman. He doesn't demand affection or crawl into laps. He likes to do his own thing. Sometimes he'll wander over, curious, and offer his head for a brief pat before moving on again. That's his way of saying hello. He isn't a cuddle cat - but he is a presence cat. The kind who shares your space quietly and makes a house feel like home.

In foster care, Gavin showed who he really is. He loved spending his days stretched out in the catio, perched high on the top tier of his cat tree, watching the world go by. He has a deep love for the outdoors and would thrive in a home where he can safely enjoy fresh air and sunshine again. Inside, he just wants calm - a quiet room at night with everything he needs, where he'll happily sleep or gaze out the window until morning.

That's the tragedy of Gavin: he can live a wonderful life. He can be content. He just can't do it here.

What he needs isn't more time - it's a door out. A quiet home. Someone who understands that love doesn't always look like cuddles, but sometimes like patience, space, and letting a gentle soul be exactly who he is.
