About Orzo
Orzo was sore and hurt with a broken wing when he arrived in rescue! Unfortunately, by the time he got here it had already been a few days since he had originally acquired the injury, and because birds heal broken bones so fast- it had already begun to calcify in a poor position. We did our best to splint him up to prevent further misplacement, and Orzo was very kind and patient, letting us handle him and giving a polite telling off with a coo and a spin when we placed him back in his cage.
Orzo has now recovered and can no longer fly- But he doesn’t let that bring him down! He is grateful for the care he has received and is quite okay making you his personal perch on quiet evenings where he will tell you about his day. We suspect Orzo is a gentle boy but if clarification is needed DNA sexing can be arranged for a small fee.
He would like a home either indoors or in an aviary with few ramps so he can still feel included and has a way to look out and survey the landscape like the king he is. He would be happy to meet a few friends but just as content becoming a pampered singular pigeon.
Orzo would love to land in a safe place!
Medical notes
Previous fracture to wing - primary feathers require clipping to prevent mobility and grooming issues.
