Quetzal is a puppy full of curiosity and love. There is no dog that Quetzal has met that she doesn't love even when her love may sometimes not be reciprocated by the older dogs in her foster home. Currently in foster care with dogs from 3kg to 30kg, she gets along with all of them. It took her 2 secs to watch her foster siblings come in the doggy door and she's in and out in a heartbeat.
Quetzal loves being indoors and doesn't like being left out in the backyard. Currently as she is not fully vaccinated she stays in her crate while her foster siblings goes for a walk and she will only bark twice, as if to say hey what about me, but she settles quickly and is quiet as soon as the front door is shut. She loves playing with her toys and is happy to play with her toys while you are busy. Non-demanding when it comes to attention, she would make the perfect wfh buddy.
She is fully crate trained and toilet trained and has been since day 1 in foster care. Its quite obvious that Quetzal has not had much obedience training in her young life, but she knows the basics like 'come', 'stay', 'get in your crate', even though she might get a bit distracted at first. Consistency and patience is key to Quetzal being the best family pet she can be.
Quetzal had been surrendered to the pound as she had not received the proper training to be a successful farm dog, and as such she is looking for a home where she could be the best companion dog giving the best cuddles. She would thrive with a bit of training put into her. Already learning heel, she has picked up it very quickly and walks with loose lead with just a bit of reminder.
Quetzal is the most pocket fun size little border collie mix, she is only 12kg currently, with only a little growing left to do! She would fit very well into any home!
