About Marlow
* Pupdate - Mr Marlow has just returned from 5 days intensive training with George Tran - Dog Behaviourist *
Marlow is a charming and exuberant pup currently in the embracing care of our team.
At six months old, we believe Marlow is an Istrian Coarse-Haired Hound. He's incredibly loving, with a beautiful demeanor that surely wins hearts.
Currently in his puppy mouthing and teething phase, Marlow needs patience, tender loving care, and strong leadership to help him understand his role within the family unit—not only as a loyal partner but as part of the pack, understanding you are the pack leader! Due to his exuberance only, we recommend Marlow is adopted with dog savvy kids of 10+ only.
Marlow has now fully decompressed and well on his journey of basic training - he can sit, wait, lay down, shake and 'on your bed, go' however, he does need to be fully focused to do this so absolutely needs further and regular sessions to continue this, it helps that he is very good driven. He has also fully mastered toilet training so long as you let him outside regularly and/or first thing in the morning, last thing at night and after food. He is still mouthy and can nip by mistake, he is getting much better but, any adopter needs to be fully aware of this and be fully prepared to acknowledge this, be patient, be a strong yet caring leader and continue his journey.
As a hound breed, Marlow requires plenty of exercise and engagement to keep his sharp mind occupied. He loves nothing more than to walk on a long leash with you on 2 x long walks per day, making him the perfect companion for those who relish outdoor adventures.
Marlow loves other dogs however, he is very boisterous in play so any fur siblings would need to be very placid and patient! He also gets on with cats though again is very boisterous so must be a dog savvy cat. He loves horses and is very good in their presence.
Marlow is a dog that craves interaction and enrichment. His exuberant personality thrives on mental stimulation through tasks such as licky mats, puzzles, and using his scent sniffing skills searching for hidden treats and toys. His favorite pastimes include retrieving ball, a game he simply adores and tugging on ropes. He also loves swimming!
As Marlow is an affectionate pup committed to cuddling on the sofa and even sharing a spot on your child's bed, the family adopting him must be ready to have him as a fully integrated part of their indoor life.
His loyalty and eagerness to please indicate he would do best in a home with an experienced hound family that is devoted to continuing his training and providing the daily exercise he craves.
If you're ready to offer Marlow the structure, love, and activity he thrives on, this delightful boy is eager to become a devoted and charming companion for a family who appreciates his energetic spirit.
