About Dallas
⚠️ Assisted Rehoming
Dallas is a sweet, calm, 12-year-old Bichon Frise mix who enjoys a predictable, relaxed lifestyle. He spends most of his time indoors with regular outdoor access for toileting and fresh air. He loves being near his people, going for short walks, and snoozing in a comfy spot. His vet often calls him “a wonderful little man,” which reflects his gentle nature.
Dallas is toilet trained (prefers to go on grass), knows basic commands, and has a soft, well-mannered temperament. He eats dry food only and is a good, consistent eater. He has lived in a quiet family home and would suit an older individual, couple, or a calm household that can offer companionship and routine.
He gets along well with small, friendly dogs in neutral environments like kennels and dog parks, and he has previously stayed in a home with an older cat, respectfully giving it space. At home, he can be mildly territorial and may bark at possums or the postman, but is otherwise not an excessive barker. He can be a little anxious during storms and appreciates reassurance. Indoors, he enjoys couches, beds, and the occasional burst of playful zoomies.
Dallas has arthritis managed with Beransa and joint supplements, and he is prone to dental disease, so routine dental care is important. Otherwise, he is in good health for his age and enjoys a comfortable quality of life.
He would make a lovely companion for someone wanting a gentle, affectionate senior dog who thrives in a peaceful, relaxed home.
** Assisted rehoming **
This is an assisted rehoming which means that Animals In Need Brisbane (AINB) will advertise, contact applicants and pass on applications that meet the the criteria to the owner who will make the final decision on the rehoming of the animal. AINB may also be requested to undertake an inspection of the successful applicants property to confirm safety and suitability.
There is no adoption fee for assisted rehomings but we do ask for a donation from the successful applicant (of their choosing) to AINB in recognition of the administrative and time costs incurred.
⚠️ Please include all relevant information in your application, including fencing, other pets, children and ages etc.
Medical notes
Dallas has arthritis which is managed with Beransa and joint supplements. He is prone to dental disease, so routine dental care is important.
Adoption details
We list animals for adoption on Pet Rescue as well as on our own Animals-in-Need-Brisbane website. We talk with people who contact about an animal to see what their needs and situation are. Our emphasis is on getting the right animal for the people and the right people for the animal. If everyone's needs are met things usually work out well.
If the situation sounds good we arrange a meeting. If all goes well we let people try the animal out for a couple of weeks to ensure that everyone is happy.
We keep records of all adopters, follow up to ensure all is well and undertake to take back any animal if circumstances change.
