About Denim
Please only apply for this greyhound if you have:
- Another dog as a companion for Denim
- A quiet household
- Children over 10 years
This lovely boy is a really just a 2yo puppy - playful with his toys and his greyhound foster sisters, but timid in new situations.
On leash, Denim is a dream and does not pull at all and will lift his foot if the leash gets caught around his leg. Apart from his daily walks, he attends a greyhound pet walk each week. He has met a variety of other breeds of dog, both large and small, which he is totally fine with.
He is a stunning blue dog with melt-your-heart amber eyes who would love nothing more than a comfortable home, preferably with another dog for companionship and to continue building his confidence, as he has bonded really well with our girls.
Denim is fully house trained. Being young his way of learning is to taste things, so we recommend toddler proofing the house until he is comfortable with his new living arrangements. He does like to pile toys into his bed and to shop for shoes to accompany them! He is generally not destructive with the shoes.
He can enjoy a belly rub first thing in the morning and loves a pat. He gets very excited about going for a walk and will jump onto the dog bed, lie down and put his nose up to have his walking collar clipped on.
Denim is learning to jump into the back seat of a sedan and once there, will happily lie down or sit and face backwards, watching out the rear window!
He is fine with cows and horses, and a rural home would suit him. He has not shown any desire to investigate wombats or echidnas.
His ideal home will be a quiet one with children over 10 years. During the time he has been with us in foster, he has blossomed, but he still has a way to go and needs someone who understands sensitive dogs and will encourage him with quiet and patient handling, praise and positive reinforcement. Denim exhibits a strong desire to please his handler and will reward you with lots of love!
[Note: Under Victorian Law greyhounds must be on-leash at all times in public areas, including in off-leash parks or ovals]
