Matilda is a small calico with a brave little heart and a lively step, the sort who watches the world from bright eyes before deciding it’s time for play. She keeps pace with her brothers easily, darting in for sneak attacks on ribbons and unsuspecting toes, then vanishing just as quickly, pleased with herself and ready for the next round.

She loves her games with the boys, that much is true, but people are her real comfort. When the noise settles and the day grows quiet, Matilda comes close. She’ll tuck herself in beside you, press her warm little body against your arm and set her purr going, steady and soft, like a promise kept.
