Chico

Chico is a gentle older girl with a huge heart and an even bigger love for human company. She thrives when she's included in family life and would adore a home where she's welcome indoors to be part of the daily routine.

She absolutely thinks she's a lap dog and will happily try to climb into your lap whenever she gets the chance. Despite her age, Chico is still active and enjoys her walks, taking in the world at her own steady pace.

Chico is open to the right family and will make a wonderful companion for someone who appreciates a calm, affectionate dog. She's unsure around small animals, so she may be better suited to a home without them.

She already knows how to sit and lie down, and even as a senior girl she'd love to learn some new tricks - she enjoys the attention and the bonding time.

When it comes to other dogs, Chico will need to meet any potential canine housemates at the time of adoption. She was worried and avoidant with one male dog but managed a brief, polite meet with another before choosing to move away. She would prefer a calm, social dog who respects her space and doesn't overwhelm her.

Chico can also be storm‑phobic, so she'll appreciate a safe, quiet spot and some reassurance during bad weather.
