About Buddy
This lovable little meatball is looking for a calm and relaxing new home.
Poor Buddy has had a very unsteady few months, and after being moved from shelter to shelter, has found himself feeling very unsettled and overstimulated.
In the shelter, Buddy is quite chaotic and struggles to stay calm. He has gotten into a habit of walking in circles when stimulated, always to the right. The more that he is allowed to do this, the worse the habit will get, so it's important that his new owners will manage the behaviour where possible, though we do expect it to lessen in a home environment.
Buddy has been to see a remedial masseuse who has given us some exercises to do with him to improve muscle function and get him using some different neural pathways again.
Buddy has also spent a few nights at home with our trainer, and was like a whole new dog. He was much calmer and happy to relax and catch up on some sleep, and his chaotic behaviour and circling improved significantly.
This gives us confidence that with some time to really settle and decompress, he will be a much happier dog. (He also appears to be toilet trained in the home, which is a bonus!)
Buddy will need a very quiet, adult-only home with no other animals. Though he is dog friendly and would enjoy having some friends outside of the home, we're trying to create the calmest environment possible for him to really thrive, so being a single dog would be best for him.
