✨ Hi, I’m Raven — and I’m Ready for My Forever Home ✨

I’m a six-year-old German Shepherd, and I’ve had a pretty tough start to life. When I first came into care, my confidence was low and my health wasn’t great — my skin, my immunity, and my overall condition all needed a lot of support. My foster family has worked so hard to help me heal, and thanks to a good diet, routine care, and lots of kindness, I’m feeling stronger and happier every day.

I’ve learned that people can be gentle and safe. I absolutely love my foster parents, and I try my very best to make them proud. I’ve been doing regular training and I’m learning all the time — I’m a clever girl and I really enjoy having a job to do.

To help me feel braver in the world, I’ve been going to doggy daycare at Nathalia Boarding Kennels, where I’ve been learning to socialise, relax, and build confidence. I’m good with other dogs, and I enjoy their company.

The most important thing to me is being treated like a real family member. I don’t want to live on the sidelines — I want to be included in daily life, outings, adventures, and quiet time at home. I can live in a home with or without children.

I have a very gentle and beautiful nature, and while I do have natural protective instincts, I’m not suited to being trained as a guard dog. Sometimes I’ll bark when people or cars go past the house, but once I meet people up close, I’m actually very friendly and enjoy the interaction. My foster family has been gently teaching me that I don’t need to worry.

At night, I’m used to sleeping indoors, and this makes me feel safe and settled. I’d love a home that’s happy to keep this routine.

I really love my daily walks. Right now, my comfortable distance is about 2.5 km round trip, and I’m slowly building up my stamina. A home with an active lifestyle would help me keep getting stronger in a safe, steady way.

I’m very gentle and extremely tolerant of handling — even at the vet and during play — but I am a strong girl. I’m still learning not to pull on the lead when I get excited to meet people or dogs, so I’ll need a family with older, stronger children and people who are happy to continue my training and confidence building.

One more thing about me: I have storm anxiety. My foster family has been helping me feel safe during bad weather, and we’ve trialled medication to help me relax and understand that storms aren’t something I need to be scared of. I’ve made really good progress, and with the right support, I keep getting braver.

I might have had a rough beginning, but my heart is soft, my spirit is gentle, and I’m ready for a fresh start. I’m loyal, loving, and eager to bond deeply with my people.
