Meet Benji – a bright, bouncy boy with a big heart 💛

Benji is a 9-month-old puppy bursting with enthusiasm, affection, and intelligence. He’s at that wonderful (and sometimes chaotic!) adolescent stage where curiosity is high and learning happens fast. Benji thrives on human connection and loves being part of the action, making him a fantastic companion for an active household.

This clever young pup would do best with a family who has previous dog experience and understands the time, patience, and consistency a high-energy puppy needs. Benji is eager to learn and has already made great progress in foster care, especially with the help of his Groodle foster sibling, whom he adores and follows everywhere. Having another confident, tolerant dog in the home could be a huge bonus for Benji, as he learns well by example. He can be quite playful and mouthy, so any canine companion would need to be patient and enjoy an enthusiastic playmate.

Benji is very smart and active, and like many young dogs, he needs plenty of mental stimulation, training, and appropriate outlets for his energy. Without this, he may decide to entertain himself by chewing—something he’s continuing to learn better habits around.

Benji is also a sensitive soul. He has shown some fear when he walks into a room with someone and the door shuts - his body freezes and he shuts down. His foster carers are gently helping him learn that these situations can be safe and positive, and he’s already benefiting from calm, reassuring guidance. A compassionate home that understands confidence-building and positive reinforcement will help Benji continue to grow into the confident dog he’s meant to be.
