Hi, my name is Wesley. I may look like a confident young man now but that is only thanks to the Angels, who gave me a second chance at life. I wasn’t exactly looking my finest — a bit scruffy, a bit sad, and definitely not my best self. I get why people walked past me… but I’m so glad someone finally stopped and saw the little sweetheart underneath. With their help I am learning to trust hoomans and every single day I get bit braver.

Nature
I am a gentle boy with a soft heart, that is learning to love at my own pace. I used to be a bit of a scaredy cat and hide for most of the day, but now I am happy to come around for my meals and have found some favourite spots to lounge and watch the day go by.

Oh, and did I mention I love a good head rub and booty scratch during mealtime, this is when I feel the most confident and look forward to our interactions, but only when food is around.

I also have to tell you, I am a very smart boy. I have mastered the Litter Robot all by myself and my Foster Mum say I am a real champ!

Companions (Children, Cats & Dogs)
At this stage I am still learning about hoomans, so a home with patient, gentle people, who can give me some time and space to feel safe and come out of my shell, would be ideal.

Some friendly, confident feline companions, would be nice as they make me feel braver and show me what it is like to relax and enjoy life.

I haven’t met any dogs yet, but have heard them barking outside and the voices don’t scare me, but I think I would need a slow introduction to a nice calm doggo to become friends.

My PURR-fect home would be with a loving family who understands that I am still learning how to be brave. A home that is a calm and gentle environment, where I can come out of my shell in my own time without any pressure. Having some friendly feline companions would really help me feel more confident too. With the right family by my side, I know I can keep growing into the sweet, loving kitty I’m meant to be.

Perth Rescue Angels recommends all cats are indoor only, unless they have access to a secure cat enclosure.

Medical Notes: Wesley has Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) which is a virus that can affect his immune system, however, he can still potentially live a long healthy life. FIV is transmitted through deep bite wounds. Due to his FIV Wesley will need to be an indoor only cat. FIV cats can live harmoniously with other cats however slow introductions are required to ensure they do not fight.
