About Coco
Meet Coco 🐾
Coco is a very sweet natured and affectionate girl who truly just wants to be loved. She has a gentle, submissive personality and approaches the world with friendly curiosity, always hoping to make new friends wherever she goes.
She absolutely loves meeting people and other dogs, especially on the beach where her happy, social nature really shines. Coco is a smart girl, though her independent streak can sometimes show through and her stubborn side may occasionally win. She has already learned sit and lie down, and understands wait at mealtimes, even if she is still building her patience.
Coco is house trained, though she has had a small regression following her desexing surgery, which is not uncommon and is expected to settle as she fully recovers. She is sensitive by nature and does not respond well to being scolded, as this can cause her to become fearful. Coco will thrive with calm, gentle guidance and positive reinforcement.
She enjoys her own company and is happy entertaining herself, often tossing a thong or stick around or happily chewing on sticks, so a supply of appropriate chew toys will be important. Coco also loves chasing a cat laser, which currently helps guide her into her crate, along with food, when her stubborn side appears.
Lead training is a work in progress and will resume once her stitches are removed, but with consistency, patience, and rewards, Coco has the smarts to improve quickly.
Coco is a loving, soft hearted dog who just wants to be friends with everyone she meets. She would suit a home that understands sensitive dogs, uses kind training methods, and is happy to embrace her quirks while helping her continue to grow.
