About Freddie
Meet Freddie 🐾
Please read before applying:
Freddie is a very special boy who has been through a lot and has some very clear needs for his future home. He was used for breeding in his previous life and is only now starting to learn what it means to be part of a family. He will take months to settle into his new home. To respect his wellbeing and to save everyone time, please do not apply unless you meet the requirements below.
What Freddie needs:
- a local/semi local home to Coffs Harbour/Macksville
- a home away from busy cities/suburbs on acreage with secure fencing
- a home with a confident dog
- a dog savvy home with working breed experience
Freddie was scared and shut down when he first came into care and is looking for an experienced home to help him shine. He is looking for a home away from busy cities/suburbs as this is all he’s ever known and where he feels most comfortable.
Freddie is a gentle, thoughtful soul who is still learning that the world and the people in it can be a safe and happy place. He enjoys playing with other dogs and happily joins in when the mood strikes, but he also appreciates his own space and is content to quietly do his own thing.
Freddie can be a little nervous around people at first, so he is looking for a calm, patient family who will give him the time and reassurance he needs to build trust at his own pace. Once he feels secure, his sweet nature really shines through.
Freddie is very food motivated and gets adorably excited at mealtimes, including the occasional jump for food, which will make him a great candidate for positive reward based training.
He is still figuring out the doggy door, but with a little guidance and consistency, he will get the hang of it in no time.
Freddie would thrive in a loving home that understands shy dogs, values gentle progress, and is excited to help him grow in confidence. With patience, kindness, and time, Freddie will reward his forever family with loyalty and quiet companionship.
