About Evie
Hi! I'm Evie and I'm looking for a new family to call my own.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR EVIE
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM
https://forms.gle/VB46qEvPNjA39rK16
NOTE: You are unable to meet Evie until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Evie in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.
What I need in my new home:
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• To be allowed inside with my family and not left outside 24/7 with no interaction
• Another dog who is confident would be great for me, to help me learn that the world is not such a scary place!
• I appeared scared of cats when meeting them at the shelter however once my confidence around them grows I might be more inquisitive. If going to a home with a cat they must be dog savvy, and we must be introduced slowly.
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent, no gaps or holes.)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• A diet of good quality dry food to help keep my teeth clean
• A family who promises to keep me well-groomed and brush me regularly so I'm always looking and feeling my best
• Lots of love and attention
• No young children as I can be a bit shy in new situations and with new people and little ones may accidently scare me. Older children who will be involved with my training should be ok
• I can be shy at first, so I need a family who'll allow me to grow in confidence in my own time
• TRAINING TRAINING TRAINING. It's ESSENTIAL I receive training in all aspects of my life so I can be the best dog I can be when I'm older.
• SOCIALISATION is as important for me as it appears I've led a very sheltered life and can be a bit nervous/shy in new situations. Since being at the shelter I'm becoming much braver though. Taking me to lots of different places, meeting lots of people (children, men, woman etc) and meeting lots of dogs and other animals will help boost my confidence
My best features:
• Gentle & placid
• I love attention, hugs, kisses, head scratches and snuggles once I get to know you
• Well mannered
Where I need to improve / Training required:
• I will require full basic training as I've had no training experience yet
• I need further training on my recall as I can ignore you if you're trying to call me back to you
• I can be shy and timid when meeting new people or experiencing new environments/unfamiliar situations, so I'll need a patient family who is happy to give me time to settle in and continue my socialisation at my own pace. I'll need gentle encouragement and reassurance, allowing me the time to explore and learn that new places aren't scary. With patience and understanding, my confidence will gradually grow
