About Lana
Meet Lana — 36kg of gentle, playful German Shepherd charm.
Lana is a lovely young girl who was originally brought into her family as a therapy companion, but as she grew, her size and strength became a bit too much for her senior owners to manage. They describe her as playful and relaxed, with a sweet nature and a soft spot for both adults and children. She can get a little excited when kids sprint or squeal, but there’s not a hint of malice in her — just enthusiasm.
At home, Lana has wonderful manners. She’s fully toilet trained, taps the door when she wants to go out, and happily spends time indoors as part of the family. She enjoys human company but is fine being left for a few hours, typically around 3–4 each day.
Exercise-wise, Lana enjoys one good walk or off-lead run per day (around an hour) and stays settled with about 45 minutes of daily activity. At 36kg, she’s a big girl who will suit a home with space — ideally a property where she can stretch her legs between adventures. She loves a game of being chased when she has a toy and is always up for fun with her people.
With other dogs, Lana is generally comfortable when on a lead. She can be unsure around small dogs, especially off-lead, but manages well with guidance. She has snapped at a dog once before, so sensible introductions and continued training will be important. With people, she’s wonderfully social — she greets visitors politely (with the occasional enthusiastic lick) and has no concerns meeting new faces out and about.
Lana knows her basics — sit, stay, and come — and travels well in the car. She has reliable recall, walks well on lead, and has been a loved member of her household, including regular visits from their 6-year-old granddaughter.
She’s healthy, on standard parasite control, and simply needs to stick to a consistent diet that works well for her. She currently eats a combination of fresh foods (rice, veggies, chicken or fish) plus a small amount of grain-free kibble.
Lana will thrive in a home with room to move, people who enjoy having their dog included in daily life, and adopters who appreciate the loyal, affectionate nature of a German Shepherd. She’s ready to be someone’s steady companion — playful when you want her to be, relaxed when you need her to be, and always happy to be by your side.
