About Edwina - 4 Year Old Dachshund
Meet Edwina
If you’re looking for a loyal little shadow who enjoys being by your side, walks, sunny naps and lots of cuddles? Edwina is the girl for you.
Edwina thrives in a home where someone is around most of the time. She adores her humans, lives for belly rubs and cuddles, and prefers one-on-one time over hanging out with other dogs. While she happily coexists with resident small dogs, her heart belongs firmly with her people.
Edwina takes a little while to warm up to new people but when she does her love runs deep. She will need a family who are patient and calm and give her time to feel comfortable. Kids over 10 would probably suit her best. Edwina is just learning about the outside world after life in a pen, so she will need a family with patience and kindness who can introduce her to new experiences by going slowly and making them positive.
Edwina would love a garden of her own to explore and sunbake in. She is not suited to apartments. She would prefer her people home often as she loves their company. She is not bothered by cats or other small dogs, she is happy to be around them.
This beautiful girl deserves a person to call her own and in return, you’ll gain the most loyal, loving little companion. She is thriving on a fresh food diet and we’d love that to continue in her forever home, we have plenty of information and discount codes to help.
Edwina is vaccinated, microchipped and treated for fleas, worms and ticks. Her adoption fee is $800,which includes her desexing in January 2026.
Edwina is in foster care in New Lambton, Newcastle, NSW. She is only available for adoption to the Lower Hunter region (Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens, Maitland and Cessnock) plus Central Coast and Sydney. She'll need to be returned to one of our approved vets for desexing in January 2026.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to fill in our online Adoption Questionnaire:

(2) If the questionnaire is approved, we will arrange a property check so we
can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've applied for.
(3) Next, we will arrange for you to meet the pet, usually at the foster
carer's home or at a nearby park.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay the adoption fee*, sign the NSW change of ownership form and our DRN Adoption Agreement and take your new family member home! The two week trial period begins on the day of adoption.
*We prefer payment by funds transfer and don't accept cash or personal
cheques.
