Meet Louie 🩵

Our sweet, cuddly Staffy X boy Louie has now been in care for 190 days — that’s over half a year without a home to truly call his own. 🥺 Despite how far he’s come, Louie is still waiting patiently for the family who will choose him.

Since coming into care, Louie has grown into the ultimate lovebug. 💙 He is affectionate, cuddly, and completely people-oriented — a true couch companion who would happily snuggle the day away. He has settled beautifully, calmed down significantly, and continues to impress us with just how loving and eager to please he is. 🥰

Louie loves his soft toys and blankets, enjoys walks and having a good chat, and has already mastered some basic obedience. He is a smart boy who learns quickly, and his new family will need to continue his training to help him maintain clear boundaries and structure in the home. With consistency, patience, and love, Louie will absolutely shine. 🐾

He generally gets along well with dogs of a similar temperament, though he can be a little dominant during play. Slow introductions and supervision are essential. Louie is also great with dog-savvy children, but he can become a bit jumpy when excited — something ongoing training will continue to improve.

To keep Louie safe, secure, high fencing is a must. He’s an intelligent, curious boy who enjoys exploring, and we want to ensure he can do so safely. 🌿

At his core, Louie is a big softie who just wants love, routine, and a family of his own. After spending more than half a year in care, he truly deserves his chance at forever. 💕

🩺 MEDICAL NOTES:
Not long after entering care, Louie experienced a skin allergy flare-up causing redness and hair loss. Since starting steroids, Apoquel, and transitioning to a single-protein diet, his skin has made an incredible recovery — with around 90% of his hair already grown back! 🙌🏼 It’s believed Louie has a food allergy, so his new family will need to continue a single-protein diet to keep him happy and healthy. 💙
