Look at me, I am the beautiful Quartz, a fluffy, cautious cat who has blossomed so much since being rescued.

I originally came into the Angel’s care after my babies were found at a mining company—hence my brilliant gemstone name! I had been out there for some time, unwell and exhausted while caring for my little ones, but thankfully someone had been feeding me, and we were rescued just in time.

At first, I would hiss because I was scared and unsure—but things have changed. With patience, routine, and consistent love from my foster hooman, I’ve started letting my guard down. I now enjoy slow approaches, gentle pats, and especially butt scratches (firm ones, please!) I’ve even begun approaching for a cautious sniff when someone I trust gets close.

I love greeting my family at the door when they come home—it makes my heart so happy! I’m also discovering my playful side: batting balls, flicking at rope toys, and even doing big fluffy zoomies with the other foster cats through the hallway.

My foster hooman says she sees my confidence growing in the sweetest ways, like when I loaf nearby and watch her clean, or sneak onto the bed for a cozy nap.

I’m loving the new house-cat life more every day, and slowly discovering the joys of comfort, companionship, and fun. Each day, I feel braver, more relaxed, and ready to show my affectionate, fluffy-self to the people I trust.

Companions (Children, Cats & Dogs)
I’ve met children around 5 years old and was curious, but preferred to keep a respectful distance.

With other cats, I’m learning who I like and who I’d rather admire from afar. I’ve made a special friendship with the aloof ginger outsider who visits—when he comes in, I flirt a little, rub on him, and greet him like an old friend.

Some of the resident cats offer me nose kisses; others I just watch. I may do well with a friendly cat buddy, as long as the introduction is slow and steady.

I lived with a crazy Kelpie and hissed when my boundaries were crossed, so I’d prefer a gentle and cat-savvy pooch with proper slow introductions.

I’ve been a perfect litter user since day one, which makes my foster hooman think I was once a house cat who just needed to remember her manners.

My PURR-fect home would be a quiet, patient home where I can continue to decompress and feel safe. I need someone who understands my gentle heart, slow‑burn trust, and the joy of watching a shy cat blossom. I’d like my own space at first, then gradually explore the rest of the home at my own pace. With time, kindness, and consistency, I promise I will continue to grow—into a loving, playful, cuddly companion who appreciates the safe life inside.

Perth Rescue Angels recommends all cats live indoors only, unless given access to a secure cat enclosure.
