About Beans
š¤ Meet Beans (aka Brains, Bean-Bean, Pocket Gremlin) š¤
Part Foxy ⢠Part Chi ⢠Part Dachshund ⢠Part Bat ⢠100% Character
Beans is still a young boy at 2 years and 6 months of age.
Beans is a tiny fluffball with comically large ears, a soft, fluffy coat, and a deep belief that wherever you are⦠that is exactly where he should be. Heās not clingy, heās just very dedicated to being nearby ā under the table, beside the sofa, waiting at the stairs, or quietly supervising whatever youāre doing.
At home, Beans is a lovely mix of calm and cuddly. Heās happiest chilling close to his humans, watching the world go by and soaking up pats (and yes ā if you stop before heās ready, heāll politely paw, nudge or tap you until service resumes).
When left with his doggy pack, he settles quickly into nap mode, then absolutely loses his mind with joy when you come home ā bouncing, twisting, and wiggling like a tiny wind-up toy.
Beans is toilet trained, uses the doggy door like a pro, and handles stairs with confidence. He did briefly experiment with indoor marking but that phase has basically ended ā Beans learns fast and is very apologetic when caught doing the wrong thing.
He responds beautifully to praise and clear guidance and genuinely wants to do the right thing.
On walks, Beans brings the enthusiasm. He loves getting out and about and could happily walk a good distance when itās not too hot. Heās busy, curious, and very committed to sniffing everything. He walks best on a front-attach harness as he can pull and zig-zag, and he can be very vocal when he sees other dogs or if the pack separates. This is a work-in-progress and improving with training, but future adopters should be ready to keep working on his āindoor voiceā while out and about š
Beans likes small dogs and would love to live with another small, chill companion who enjoys walks followed by quality lounge time. Big dogs are a bit scary for him ā under all that fluff, heās actually quite tiny! He isnāt fussed about toys, though he may occasionally join a game of fetch mostly to chase the other dog, not the ball.
Beans is a big fan of kids. If you canāt find him, thereās a strong chance heās curled up next to a child on the sofa or quietly hanging out in their room. Heās happy with noise and movement but would suit kids aged 4+ who understand gentle handling, as Beans will let you know if something feels like too much.
Storms, however⦠not Beansā favourite thing. Like many dogs, the recent Brisbane storms have been pretty scary for him. When thunder hits, he feels safest snuggled close ā either curled up under the blankets on the human bed or tucked in with his fur friends for comfort and confidence. Having company makes all the difference.
At night, Beans sleeps in his own bed beside the human bed (or next to his favourite old man dog). He would love full-time bed privileges and will occasionally sneak up when he gets the chance, just to say hi.
Beans is generally quiet at home, alerting to the doorbell or strange noises and expressing his opinions when needed. Heās affectionate, loyal, a little sensitive, and deeply attached to his people. He doesnāt love being left completely alone but is quite content with a canine buddy or humans who are home most of the time.
š« Cats are a no for Beans ā heāll need a cat-free home.
⨠Beansā ideal home:
⢠Another small dog for companionship
⢠Humans who are home most of the time
⢠Regular walks followed by serious chill time
⢠A pack to belong to ā Beans thrives with company
Beans is a snuggly little boy with endless love to give, a strong desire to belong, and absolutely no concept of personal space once youāve won his heart.
If youāre looking for a loyal sidekick who loves walks, cuddles hard, and wants to be part of everything you do ā Beans is ready to move in š¤š¾

Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email.
