About Bella
Bella is a young mum who has already lived more life than she should have at just 10 months old. Found as a stray with her kittens, Bella did everything she could to keep them safe. Now that her babies have moved into foster care, it's finally her turn. Bella is ready to break the cycle and find the forever home she's never had.
She is a quiet, shy girl who blossoms in the right environment. She absolutely loves other cats and will be happiest living with one or more friendly, cat-social companions who can help her feel secure and confident. A home with dogs, even calm, senior dogs, would not be suitable, as Bella is fearful of them.
Bella will thrive with a gentle, patient settling-in process. We recommend starting her in a safe room and allowing her to progress at her own pace. Gradual introductions to the rest of the home in small steps will help prevent her from feeling overwhelmed.
She copes best in a home with predictable interactions, where she has plenty of choice and control over how and when affection happens. Providing lots of appropriate hiding places, such as semi-covered cat beds, cat trees, and even a soft carrier left open, will help Bella feel secure as she settles in.
Bella doesn't ask for much: just patience, kindness, and the chance to finally feel safe. In return, you'll be giving a young mum the opportunity to leave survival behind and start the life she truly deserves.
Bella is part of our Rescue or Rehome program, where we are committed to finding homes for cats and kittens who simply cannot cope in the shelter environment. If you can open your heart and home to Bella - or if you're a rescue group able to help - please reach out to us at adoptions@dogshome.com
