About Zazu
Zazu is looking for a new home. He is a 16-year-old Alexandrine Parrot with a potential lifespan of 30+ years in captivity, so he’s seeking a committed home where he can be a much-loved companion for many years to come.
Zazu has been a cherished family pet, but with a growing young family, his owners have made the difficult decision to rehome him in his best interests. With the demands of children, Zazu has inevitably taken a back seat and would now benefit from a home where he can once again be the focus of daily attention.
He has experience living both indoors and in a large outdoor aviary, showing he can adapt well to different setups, provided his social needs are met. Zazu has a clear preference for men and tends to bond more readily with them.
Alexandrine parrots are intelligent, social, and can be very affectionate birds, but they are not suited to first-time bird owners. Zazu will thrive with someone who understands parrots and can provide regular interaction, mental stimulation, and a spacious environment. He also has a strong voice and needs consistent engagement to prevent boredom and behavioural issues.
For the right, experienced home, Zazu will be a rewarding and engaging companion with plenty of personality to share.
