About Pinkie
Pinkie is a gentle soul who has already lived a life far harder than any cat should. Whatever his past holds, it has clearly left its mark. Pinkie is missing part of one of his feet; whether from early trauma or a congenital condition, we may never know, but what we do know is that he has been through more than his fair share.
Right now, the shelter environment feels overwhelming for Pinkie. He is frightened, shut down, and unsure of the world around him. He isn't the cat who rushes to the front of the enclosure for attention ... instead, he quietly hopes for safety, patience, and understanding. Beneath the fear is a cat who desperately wants to feel secure again.
Pinkie is looking for a super calm, quiet home where he can truly decompress at his own pace. A home without chaos, with gentle routines and kind humans who understand that trust takes time. Our experienced behaviour team will provide ongoing support to help Pinkie settle and build confidence, so you won't be on this journey alone.
Adopting a cat like Pinkie isn't about instant cuddles or quick wins. It's about compassion, patience, and seeing value where others may look away. Cats like Pinkie are so often overlooked because they need more, more time, more understanding, more heart.
Choosing Pinkie means choosing to be a real hero. It means changing the entire trajectory of a life that has known fear and loss, and replacing it with safety, warmth, and love. The reward isn't loud or flashy, it's quiet, profound, and deeply meaningful.
Pinkie is part of our Rescue or Rehome program, where we are committed to finding homes for cats and kittens who simply cannot cope in the shelter environment. If you can open your heart and home to Pinkie - or if you're a rescue group able to help - please reach out to us at adoptions@dogshome.com
