About Hank
Hi! I'm Hank and I'm looking for a new family to call my own.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR HANK
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM
https://forms.gle/HX1p2cR1QVULRr68A
NOTE: You are unable to meet Hank until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Hank in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.
What I need in my new home:
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• To be allowed inside with my family and not left outside 24/7 with no interaction.
• A doggie playmate would be great, if not then lots of socialising with other dogs
• I appeared scared of cats when meeting them at the shelter however once my confidence around them grows I might be more inquisitive. If going to a home with a cat they must be dog savvy, and we must be introduced slowly.
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• A diet of good quality dry food to help keep my teeth clean
• A family who promises to keep me well-groomed and brush me regularly so I'm always looking and feeling my best
• Lots of love and attention
• A quiet & mature family/household - this is what I am used too
My best features:
• I LOVE attention, hugs, kisses & head scratches
• Wiggle butt
• Highly food motivated
• Gentle & placid
• I have had some basic obedience training and am a generally well-mannered dog
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans
• Well mannered
• Love to snooze on the couch
• I walk well on lead
• Happy to hang out with other friendly dogs
Where I need to improve / Training required:
• As I have not been allowed inside before I am not housetrained yet
• I walk well on lead, unless I want to go in another direction, then I tend to pull
• I can be a bit bouncy, especially when I'm excited - training should stop this
AN ADOPTION CAN'T BE APPROVED IF YOU HAVE CANNOT COME TO THE SHELTER TO MEET HANK IN PERSON.
ANY EXISTING DOGS AT HOME MUST COME TO THE SHELTER TO MEET HANK BEFORE AN ADOPTION CAN BE APPROVED
Medical notes
Hank had a mass surgically excised on 11/12/25 consistent with a benign tumour known as a Hemangioma. Generally caused by solar damage and other such tumours can be expected to grow over the course of his life.
Hanks upper two canine teeth were extracted on 11/12/25 due to being fractured and infected. His lower canines are also fractured but were assessed under general anaesthetic and as there is no communication with the root canal the teeth at the time of examination were deemed vital and not removed.
