About Rocky
Meet Rocky a resilient 5-year-old German Shepherd searching for a calm, understanding forever home.
Rocky is a loyal, intelligent boy with a playful streak who simply needs the right person to show him safety, structure and kindness.
Rocky is best suited to an experienced German Shepherd owner who understands the breed’s needs and can offer calm leadership and a predictable routine. He would be suited to someone who is home most of the time. He would thrive in a quiet home where he can learn the household's routine at his own pace and learn that he’s finally safe.
Rocky came from a pound environment which he found very stressful and overwhelming. He has now settled well in his foster home. Because of his experience in the pound, Rocky is not social with other dogs and must be the only dog in the household. This allows him to settle without pressure and form a strong, trusting bond with his person.
Once Rocky knows you, he is affectionate, loyal and eager to please. He is the kind of dog who will stand by your side, watch the world calmly with you, have a little game and appreciate the companionship he has been longing for.
Rocky is currently available for adoption in NSW, ACT, Queensland and Victoria. If you're interested in making him a cherished member of your family, you'll need to drive with your loved ones to meet him. Should he, for any reason, not be the perfect fit for your family, you would be responsible for either bringing him back to Sydney or helping us rehome him from your home.

Adoption details
To apply for a dog you can either click on the Enquire about the dog and we will send you an application form, or you can go to our website and complete an online form.

We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
