NOTE: You are unable to meet Birdie until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Birdie in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.

What I need in my new home:
• BREED KNOWLEDGE IS PREFERRED
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• To be allowed inside with my family and not left outside 24/7 with no interaction.
• A doggie playmate who is gentle and calm may is best as boisterous dogs sometimes annoy me so I will require lots of socialisation and positive experiences with other dogs.
• I have a high prey drive so I can't go to a home that already has cats, rabbits/guinea pigs or chickens/ducks as I will chase them
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• A diet of good quality dry food to help keep my teeth clean
• A family who promises to keep me well-groomed and brush me regularly so I'm always looking and feeling my best
• Lots of love and attention
• A quiet & mature family/household - this is what I am used too
• Being an active breed, I have a lot of energy so an active family is a must!
• A family that will love and care for me during my twilight years
• I LOVE water and would love to have my very own clam pool to laze around in. \
• I dislike on leash greetings and can be reluctant to approach dogs when I'm on lead, I'm also not a fan of off leash dogs approaching me when I'm on my lead and can become reactive to them, I need work on my tolerance of dogs on leads.

My best features:
• Very playful
• Wiggle butt
• Highly food motivated
• I have had some basic obedience training and am a generally well-mannered dog
• I walk well on lead
• Happy to hang out with other friendly dogs
• I am clever and eager to learn so would love a family who will teach me some cool tricks.
• I love attention, hugs, kisses & head scratches
• Well mannered
• Love to snooze on the couch
• I walk well on lead for a young doggo but having daily walks should help me improve my lead skills
• Exuberant & full of beans
• I LOVE the water and will splash about in my water bowl, play with the hose and swim in the basin/river
• I love my ball & playing fetch.

Where I need to improve / Training required:
• I need further training on my recall as I can ignore you if you're trying to call me back to you
• I can be a bit bouncy - training should stop this
• I can be strong on the lead - training and walking me in a halti or harness may stop this
• I walk well on lead, unless I want to go in another direction, then I tend to pull harder.

AN ADOPTION CAN'T BE APPROVED IF YOU HAVE CANNOT COME TO THE SHELTER TO MEET BIRDIE IN PERSON.
