About Gavin
🌼 Meet Gavin 🌼
2-year-old Cockatiel | Professional Whistler | Certified Sweetheart
Gavin is one of those birds who quietly steals your heart without you even realising it.
At just two years old, this gentle little cockatiel is full of happy chatter, soft whistles, and cheerful songs. He loves to talk to his people, sing along to the day, and watch the world go by. Gavin is calm, affectionate, and has a beautifully kind nature, the sort of bird who makes your home feel warmer just by being there.
Gavin truly enjoys the company of other birds and would thrive in a home where he has a feathered friend, or with humans who enjoy including him in daily life. He’s social without being demanding, sweet without being loud, and has a lovely, peaceful presence.
Due to poor breeding and an improper diet early in life, Gavin was born with a mild congenital cleft palate, meaning he has a small extra opening in the roof of his mouth. While that might sound scary, the most important thing to know is this:
👉 It does not stop Gavin from being a normal, happy cockatiel at all.
He eats well, vocalises normally, plays, preens, and goes about his day just like any other bird. His condition is stable, non-progressive, and simply makes him a little bit unique, a reminder that perfection comes in many forms.
Gavin has been fully vet checked, has had a recent blood test, and is currently in good health. He is thriving and ready to find a home that sees how special he truly is.
✨ Gavin needs someone to love him for exactly who he is. And in return, he’ll give you gentle companionship, sweet songs, and the quiet joy that only a bird like him can bring.
Gavin is a bit timid and will need some gentle patience as he builds confidence, but when he does, he’ll reward you with companionship, song, and so much joy.
If you’re looking for a tender-hearted little friend with a big personality and an even bigger heart, Gavin is waiting for you. 🐦💛
Medical notes
Gavin has a mild congenital cleft palate (an oronasal opening) from poor breeding. He has been vet checked, is in good health, and the condition does not impact his day-to-day wellbeing.
Adoption details
Regardless of the breed of animal you are looking to adopt, our adoption process is the same.
The first step of the process involves submitting an adoption application form. The form helps us understand a little bit more about you and your household and allows us to determine whether an animal is suited to your home and family and vice versa.
After a review process, shortlisted applicants will be contacted via the Pet Rescue Website. It is usually at at this point that we will organise a Meet & Greet.
If the Meet & Greet goes well on the day, in most cases you will be able to take the animal home straight away after payment of the adoption fee. We have a 2 week trial period to allow the animal to settle into your home and ensure the animal and you are happy. During this time, the animal can be returned to Forget Me Not Rescue for a full refund of the adoption fee.
All necessary paperwork including vet work history and transfer of ownership information will be sent via email within a few days unless otherwise specified.
