About Sheeba
💖 AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION 💖
Sheeba | 10 yrs | Female | Siberian Husky
Located Melb
🌸 Sheeba is a calm, sweet natured senior Husky with a beautiful spirit and a love for exploring the great outdoors. Loyal, gentle, and wonderfully independent, she’s the perfect companion for someone who wants a steady, reliable friend by their side.
💖 Personality & Temperament
Gentle and Kind !!
Sheeba has been raised with children including infants and toddlers and has always been incredibly soft, patient, and tolerant. If kids become too energetic around her, she simply walks away. She has never growled, snapped, or shown aggression toward any person.
Independent but Loyal
She’s not a cuddly, on the couch type dog, but her love shows in different ways:
• choosing to follow you around the yard,
• checking in with you on walks,
• quietly resting nearby.
She forms strong bonds through companionship and shared routines.
🐾Her Famous Walk-Time Song
True to Husky charm, she has a little howl she saves for the best parts of the day, her morning and evening walks. It’s adorable, soft, and full of personality.
🚶♀️Exercise & Lifestyle Needs
Sheeba might be older, but she still thrives with activity.
She’s fantastic on lead calm, responsive, and well-trained. Off leash she has excellent recall (rare for a Husky!) and loves beaches, hiking paths, and exploring new locations. Dog parks don’t excite her anymore; she prefers real adventures and peaceful environments.
🏡 At home, she is low-maintenance. She is not anxious and is perfectly content spending time on her own. She prefers being outdoors and loves relaxing in a secure backyard day or night.
Other Animals
With Dogs:
Excellent with small dogs
With larger dogs, especially dominant males, she may assert herself but has never bitten or attacked. Doesn’t play much anymore she enjoys observing rather than interacting
With Cats & Small Animals:
Strictly no cats or small pets
She has a high prey drive and will actively look for cats on walks.
🏥 Health
Sheeba is in good health for her age with a few manageable considerations:
Arthritis: occasional leg trembling but still walks and runs happily
Sensitive stomach: worsened briefly after TPLO surgery (Nov 2024) likely due to NSAIDs; now stable on kibble but should avoid rich treats
Sheeba sleeps outside by choice and is comfortable through storms, only seeking comfort indoors if thunder becomes extremely loud.
🏠 Ideal Home
Sheeba will thrive with:
An active person or family who enjoys daily walks and outdoor adventures
A home without cats or small pets
A secure backyard where she can lounge and explore
Someone who appreciates an affectionate but independent dog
A patient owner who understands senior needs
❤️ Why She’s Being Rehomed
Her family loves her deeply and never imagined rehoming her. Due to an upcoming international move to Canada, the long-distance travel, cost, and stress associated with relocating a senior dog have made rehoming the kindest choice for Sheeba’s wellbeing. They want her to have a calm, happy life with someone who can give her what she needs.
